The renewed organization will increase agility and SeAMK-level operations

SeAMK’s organisational structure was renewed at the beginning of 2022. The aim of the organisational reform was, for example, to emphasise the SeAMK-level perspective and the SeAMK Spirit, increase agility and improve cost efficiency.

The organisational reform emphasised SeAMK-level operations, and in connection with this, the current unit structure has been abandoned. SeAMK has now two result areas: Teaching and RDI.

– The result area of RDI is managed by the Vice President. The result area of Teaching is led in cooperation by two Competence Area Deans.  The Competence Area Dean of Technology and Business is Heikki Rasku, and the Competence Area Dean of Welfare and Culture is Päivi Rinne. Both Deans have also SeAMK-level tasks, describes Jaakko Hallila, President & CEO of SeAMK.

SeAMK’s RDI activities are now carried out at the SeAMK level.

– With the reorganisation, SeAMK’s RDI activities are now fully implemented at the SeAMK level. The aim is to achieve higher quality as well as more coherent and more efficient operations.  The strong connection between RDI activities and our degree programmes will be maintained, says Vice President Elina Varamäki.

In connection with the reform, a SeAMK-level Master School has also be created. The Head of Degree Programme responsible for the SeAMK Master School will report directly to the President & CEO of SeAMK. The Head of Degree Programme of the SeAMK Master School is Anne-Maria Aho.

–  The organisational reform will further develop SeAMK’s already excellent operations. This has not had a direct impact on the number of our staff, but some job changes have taken place, says Jaakko Hallila.
