POLKU Studies at SeAMK
- POLKU Studies provide a possibility to accomplish the first-year studies before applying for a place as a degree student.
- POLKU Studies are open UAS studies. They can be acknowledged as a part of your studies after you have applied and been accepted as an actual degree student. The acknowledgement of POLKU studies will be seen to, after students have been selected.
- For applying Master-level UAS studies, you must have a suitable higher education degree.
NOTE! Accomplishing open UAS POLKU studies does not mean that a student will automatically be accepted as a degree student.
Price of POLKU Studies
The fee for a POLKU student is 300 €. Master level POLKU studet fee is 150 €. The fees will be invoiced in one or two installments in the beginning of the semesters when the studies start.
The enrollment for POLKU Studies
The enrollment period for the POLKU path studies beginning in autumn 2023 is in August 7, 2023 (8:00 am) – August 9, 2023 (3:00 pm). Read more about autumn 2023 POLKU path study possibilities (in Finnish) here. You will also find the enrollment links on the page provided here.
Please fill in all the fields carefully. If there are more enrollments than study places available, the students are accepted in the enrollment order shown by the SeAMK enrollment system.
In some degree programmes, there may still be study places available after the enrollment deadline. You can contact the open UAS contact person, and ask about the opportunities still available. The opportunity for starting path studies with the group will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
VÄYLÄ pathway application
SeAMK open VÄYLÄ application is intended for students, who have completed a certain number of open UAS studies relevant for the degree program applied for. The application form can be filled in at www.opintopolku.fi. The number of available study places for full-time and multiform studies will be defined every year. The VÄYLÄ application is possible in November and May.
In case one’s open UAS studies have been completed at SeAMK, the prerequisite for one’s eligibility for studies aiming at a UAS degree is min. 45 credits of completed open UAS courses.
Eligibility for Master-level UAS studies (extent 60 credits) requires at least 10 credits of completed open Master-level UAS studies. If the extent of studies applied for is 90 credits, at least 15 credits of completed open Master-level UAS studies are required beforehand. To be eligible, a student applying for Master-level UAS studies must have a suitable higher education degree and at least 2 years of work experience in the field in question.
