Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences workstation use statistics.

4. Purpose of processing personal data/data file use

The use statistics system contains information about the customers of the IT services, library and information services, the customers’ workstations and the related use rates. In other words, this a combined data file on use statistics. The data contained by the file are used for implementing customer service for the educational institution, targeting procurements and improving quality assurance.

5. Purpose of maintaining the data file

Compiling statistics on the use of workstations.

5a. Data content of the file

Customer information:

  • user ID

Device information:

  • network name
  • internet domain
  • IP address
  • MAC address
  • time of switching on the device
  • boot duration

Use data:

  • transaction, either network logon or logout
  • transaction time, year, mm, day, hour, minute, second
  • unique transaction ID
  • entry of data storage in database
  • login duration
  • group policy run time

Device information is collected from workstations.

6. Regular sources of data

  • A client running on the workstation runs each time a user logs in or out of the network.
  • Database searches in the SeAMK Active Directory service.

7. Regular disclosure of data

No customer data stored in the file are disclosed outside Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences.

8. Transfer of data outside the EU or the EEA

No data are transferred to non-EU or EEA countries.
