Research permit
When the research is aimed at SeAMK staff or students, the author of the research must apply for a research permit. See the instructions below.
What is a research permit?
When the research is aimed at the staff or students of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, the author of the research must apply for a research permit. Permission is not required for surveys or similar type of reserach used in SeAMK’s internal quality development work.

The application must state, among other things:
- the applicant’s personal information
- personal information of the research supervisor
- authors of the research
- the name of the research
- research goals and research problems
- target group
- schedule
- SeAMK’s role in research
Submitting an application
When the application has arrived at the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, the documents related to the permit are checked and the application is submitted to the Director of Research and Innovation for approval. The process takes about 1-2 weeks.
SeAMK very rarely grants personal data of students or staff for use by researchers. Usually, the contact letter and the link to the research form are published at SeAMK’s intranet, through which we will get participants for the research.
When requesting the usage of personal data, in addition to the application, a privacy statement is also required.
Privacy Statement
If the research creates a personal data register in accordance with the Personal Data Act, the Scientific Research Privacy Statement must be attached (HetiL (523/99) § 10 and § 14). Templates of the privacy statement can be found on the website of the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
Disclosure of personal data is subject to a fee.
The researcher must destroy the personal data after the publication of the results.
