Enterprise Digital Twin Platform

Enterprise Digital Twin Plantform -project aims to
- implement the enterprise digital twin development platform that can test and optimize the ability of AI to optimize companies’ production and business processes to maximize productivity.
- implement a digital twin for the entire business, from order processing to production simulation.
- provide a development platform that can be used to test different scenarios from which the collected data can be utilized for optimization with AI applications.
- encourage companies to modernize their information systems and digitize their processes by using a development platform to demo the essential software of a modern company with its data transfers
- guide companies to use commercial AI programs to solve their production optimization problems
- encourage companies to implement the digital twin of their own business

DEVISE
Digital Tech SMEs at the Service of Regional Smart Specialisation Strategies

DEVISE aims to
- give response to the current challenge that nine European regions are facing to unlock and exploit the potential that digital tech SMEs have as enabler for the competitiveness of other SMEs belonging to sectors included in their Regional Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3).
- have more coordinated actions to foster the growth of digital SMEs and therefore the project follows an innovative intersectoral approach involving all the relevant stakeholders in the process of analysing the current context, learning from other EU regions and defining improved policies integrating the lessons learnt.
- set up 10 regional digital transformation enabling environments that will cooperate together.
- increase by 15% the number of digital tech SMEs enabling competitiveness in other strategic sectors through improved policy instruments by 2021.
SeAMK’ role in the project is to
- develop the action plan for the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry in South Ostrobothnia.
- arrange one partnership meeting including a site visit and thematic workshop in South Ostrobothnia.
- organize a stakeholder group in the region.
- coordinate the monitoring methodology for the two-year follow-up period.

Circular Economy – A Game Changer for the Wood Building Industry

The overall goal for the project is to boost regional companies competitiveness on the international market by initiating new networks and business ecosystems and introducing circular economy solutions based on previous recognized success factors.
The main goal for this project is to support SMEs within the wood building ecosystem in overcoming common barriers for adopting a circular economy business. At the end of the project, the participating companies in both Finland and Sweden will have increased their knowledge on new business models, raised employee know-how on new technical solutions, better understanding of customers need for product and service development and created new networks and business ecosystems.
The project offers a platform for networking and expert assistance to foster the game change to circular economy. It also gives the SMEs in wood building industry opportunities to find synergies and complementary skills within a larger region, thereby making the transition to a circular economy easier. The work done in the project will strengthen the cooperation between universities and companies and contribute to increased innovation and transfer of new technologies to regional SMEs.

Digital Portal for Small Builder

Digital portal for the life cycle management of a single-family house project was based on the fact that single-family house builders do not control the building project nor the housing all by themselves. The instructions from authorities, permission cases, supervision, maintenance and other such issues related to building have been transferred or are being transferred to the web because of digitalization. The problem is that different software systems do not communicate with each other. The documentation of different things and controlling the updated versions of different documents is slow and tedious. Achieving 0-energy consumption is only possible through digitally controlled house automation and that is why the data collection, analyzing and controlling of different buildings will happen in cloud-based services.
During this project a concept and a pilot-version of the digital portal of a single-family house project were composed. This portal responds to the needs that single-family house builders, construction companies, building authorities and planners have at the planning and building phase. All documents related to planning and building can be shared with the relevant parties in one place. Therefore, all the documents are always up to date. In addition, the portal has a particular section for the high-quality maintenance, documentation, servicing and repairing during the housing. All documents and blueprints related to building and equipment can be saved to the portal. The automatic data collection was also tested in the pilot-version.
The goal of the project was to develop an open concept and a pilot of the digital portal of a single-family house project. The result of the project was a digital portal software for building industry working in the Internet of things. With the software, it is possible to document and control the real estate’s whole life cycle from planning to authority controlling and the actual building phase, and even further to the building’s maintenance and repairs. The digital portal is a tool for monitoring the energy consumption of a building and it can be used to get savings in heating-, water- and electricity costs. The digital portal is a web-based software for assisting in the planning, building and maintenance of a detached house.

IoT Compass Digital Innovation Hub
EU Regional Manufacturing Digital Innovation Hub -status and international network enable creating an ecosystem for digital manufacturing and industrial internet in South Ostrobothnia. Key stakeholders in the ecosystem include manufacturing industry, IT and automation companies, technology providers, financial institutions, advisors and consultants, SeAMK and other universities in the region. The ecosystem offers services such as development projects, new business models and concepts, financial and human resources, training, mentoring, piloting etc.
