International work as a dream since childhood

My name is Helmi and I currently work at SeAMK as a marketing intern. I am studying International Business at SeAMK, which I began in 2021, Autumn semester. My hometown is next to Seinäjoki, a town called Lapua. 

Before starting my internship at SeAMK, I arrived in Finland from my Erasmus Exchange in the Netherlands. I completed my extended exchange in 10 months in a city called ‘s-Hertogenbosch. I adored that city. It is a medium-sized city (by my Finnish standards), with a lot of charm. If you ever have a chance to go on an exchange, I recommend you take that chance. The exchange brought me fond memories and true friendships. Of course, there were some hardships, but even I could tackle them 3000 km away from my hometown.

I ended up studying at SeAMK right after my upper secondary high school. The choice to come here wasn’t that hard. I knew that I was interested in studying in English, full time. I have not regretted that choice. I’ve made friends all over the world whom I have had the pleasure to meet even after school has ended. It is always handy to know people all around the globe!
