President's Greeting by Dr. Jaakko Hallila

The vision of SeAMK is to be an international and entrepreneur-spirited institution of higher education – the best one for our students.

We offer high-quality education and research, development and innovation services.

Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences provides education to approximately 4,800 degree students. Of them, 75 per cent are full-time students in 18 Bachelor-degree programmes for young people, of which two are instructed in English. At Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, there are eight Master-level degree programmes, related to six educational fields. In Business, the Master’s degree can also be earned in English.

In addition to these programmes, there are multimodal courses aimed especially at people in working life. While working, it is possible to earn Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as to take further education courses. Bachelor-level multimodal implementations are also available in the six localities where the Regional University of Applied Sciences operates.

In 2018, the campus structure of SeAMK became more concentrated, with only two campuses – the main campus of Frami and the campus of Ilmajoki – as the new building of the School of Health Care and Social Work was erected in the Frami area.

Our most important development task is to develop our learning and teaching methods in such a way that that our instruction is supported by up-to-date know-how from working life and industry.

One example of this is FramiPro, a multidisciplinary learning environment based on project learning, in which students of different fields complete part of their degrees together, learning in projects. In addition to our traditional cooperation with companies, this has increased SeAMK’s cooperation with small and micro entrepreneurs.

We aim at operating as an independent and successful institution of higher education also in the future. Our goal is to have wide national and international co-operation networks and partnerships worth working life and universities.
